Charles “Tom” Kaufman, 65, of Findlay passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, December 2, 2011. Tom was born on September 7, 1946 to Gerald and Naomi Jane (Baldwin) Kaufman. Tom served his country in the United States Navy. After returning home from the Navy, Tom returned to work for Allied- Signal in Fostoria until his retirement in 1996. Upon retiring from Allied, Tom went on to work in the maintenance department for Findlay City Schools. Tom enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing with his grandson, and traveling.
Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, whom he married on April 22, 1966, Sharon (Johnston) Kaufman; children, Gregory (Mary) Tracy, and Mark (Jessica) Kaufman; grandchildren, Sonja, Olivia, and Thomas Kaufman; sister, Susan Bowers; and a brother, Frank (Valerie) Kaufman. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit on Monday from 1-4 and 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at the HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, led by Alex Kaufman. At the families request, Please NO FLOWERS. A private military service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be made to the research and cure for Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer.
