Sometimes in life you encounter people who touch your life in a lasting way. Lisa was one of those people for me. I admired her grace under pressure and her gentle trusting approach to her faith. I was able to understand my relationship with God by observing her relationship with Him.

She eagerly persued knowledge about her role as an infection control/wound nurse and genuinely cared about the residents in her care.

I always looked foreward to seeing her smiling face and sharing a tasty treat that she may have prepared . . she was a great cook!

I pray that you may find comfort in your loving memories, the beauty of a life well lived never dies.

    Sincerely,
    Elaine Perry

  9. Brittney Baney RN March 9, 2011 at 3:34 pm

Thank you for allowing me to care for Lisa in her final days. I first met Lisa when she was working at Fox Run as an aide and was pregnant with Daniel. She was very compassionate and had a huge smile that was contagious. I’m sorry for your loss.

    • Thank you Brittney. We could not have asked for a more wonderful group of nurses and aides to care for Lisa while she was at Hospice. It is amazing to me to see God’s hand in everything—how Findlay was full so we had to come to the BG facility. What a blessing when we realized that almost without fail, how everyone in the BG facility knew Lisa in some capacity- even the social worker! She loved seeing all of you and was blessed to end her final days being surrounded with family, friends, and those with whom you had a personal relationship. Thank you all for sharing your personal stories of how Lisa touched each one of you in some way during her life. You have to be a special person to do what you do and you all did it so very well.
      Beth (her sis)

We are so sorry for the passing of Lisa. It’s so hard to understand that with her faith and the good will to help others why she was taken at such an early age. I will always remember her beautiful smile and her “cheery/bubbly” personality. Lisa always had a compliment for everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time and we want you to remember that we will always be there for you. Hang on to those wonderful memories that you have and cherish the time that you got to spend with your sister.

    Love ya,
    The Harmon Family

  14. Keith,

Very sorry for your loss. I worked with Lisa for several years at BG Manor. She was always very dynamic and passionate about her resident’s welfare. You could tell that Daniel was the apple of her eye and she spoke of him often with great Love. I hope you are both doing well during this difficult time.

  15. My children and I enjoyed spending time with Lisa at Daniel’s events. Dakota always looks for “Daniel’s Mom and Daniel’s Dad” so she could say Hi or sit by you guys. Lisa always had a smile and was so happy and friendly to everyone. We will greatly miss her presence but know she will always be there with her family.

  16. I met Lisa 20+ years ago. It was so much fun seeing her and catching up on all the “news”. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did in life. I always enjoyed talking with her during basketball practice on Saturday mornings. We used to talk about how we’d be watching games for years to come. I truly believe she will be watching….and she’ll have the best seat in the house!

May your wonderful memories get you through this difficult time!

    God Bless,
    Kim Moses

  22. Lisa was a bright shining light of love whenever she walked into a room or a gym. Her love for her sons was evident to everyone who happened to be graced with her presence. She was a devoted mom and always wanted the best for her boys. As others have stated, she ALWAYS had a kind word for you when you stopped to talk to her. There were no strangers in her life, everyone she had contact with became a friend quickly. How could you not? Her smile was contagious and her laugh was invoking. Drew, carry her close to your heart, she’s right there with you forever and she will always be there with you when you have joys, pain, sorrows and new challenges. Continue growing into the man she raised you to be and strive to live out your dreams she wanted to see you achieve. May God bless you with peace to get you through this very tough time and many vivid memories to get you through the rough times ahead.
