Harold G. Inbody, 85, of Findlay, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born on December 12, 1932 in Van Buren Township, Putnam County to the late Clare L. and Alverta M. (Glore) Inbody. In August 1955, he married Janet A. Weissling and they divorced.

Harold is survived by his sister, LoAnn Burman of Pandora, OH; children, Jerry A. (Ulfa) Inbody of Ironton, OH, Susan L. Inbody-Cogley of McComb and Jane L. Meyer of Gilboa; grandchildren, Jessica (Joseph) DiTommaso, Tony (Carrie) Cogley, Keith (Devin) Inbody and Isabella Inbody; step-grandchildren, Rara (Travis) Bowling, Egar Nusantara and Edo (Ashley) Rinaldi; great-grandchildren, AJ and Luca DiTommaso; and step-great-grandchildren, Demitri Bowling and Kenzo Rinaldi. Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Inbody; sister, Mary Ellen Inbody; and grandson, Justin Meyer.

Harold was a 1950 graduate of Blanchard High School (Gilboa, OH). He retired from Marathon’s Findlay transport garage in 1994 after dedicating 33 years as a mechanical technician/welder. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time helping his family; usually fixing, digging, building or tearing down something. He was also quite gifted at occasionally getting a grandkid out of trouble. “If Grandpa couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed.” Harold loved being a grandpa as he spent much of his time at horse shows, sporting events, car races and music recitals. He was an avid fan of the Pandora-Gilboa Rockets and McComb Panthers. He also loved to “tinker” with antiques and farm equipment, especially his International Farmall H tractor. Harold’s favorite place to eat was the Pilgrim Restaurant which he affectionately called “The Pilgrim Pancake.” He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Seeing Grandpa pull up in his Chevy pickup or his Buick will be a memory we will never forget and will forever miss.

  1. Jerry, Sue and Jane – and families…
My sincere condolences with the passing of your Dad. While I didn’t really know your Dad, knowing each of you is a reflection of what a great person he must have been. I know what it feels like to lose your Dad, but please know that holding onto the many memories you have does indeed help.

Jessica & Tony — my heartfelt sympathies to you especially – losing your grandpa is not an easy life lesson. Please know you are in my prayers as you travel down this path of life. Hold on to your memories…. that way he will be with you always.

God Blessings on all of Harold Inbody’s family during this most difficult time. Prayers for the coming days, weeks and months ahead as you adjust to your new normal.

  2. Harold was my neighbor for the past 2 + years; he was SUCH a nice man, always had a smile and a hello for me. We had many talks in our adjoining driveways about things that ranged from where he had worked in his younger days to the improvements in the neighborhood that we coming. I am sorry for your loss and have thought of Harold with great fondness since I moved. You have my greatest sympathy for your loss.
